Over seeing Golden Bay
SOLD price $450
The final Golden Bay dot painting in this series is US Over seeing Golden Bay. Native aborigines painting depict from above what happens below. Here in the Bay there are three main gathering spots towns of Takaka and Collingwood and the Pohara centre. The tracks between each are shown as two way traffic and the highway in and out of the Bay. It carries on to the east and west.
The various colured patches are the various settlements such as Rototai, Clifton Motupipi, Kotinga. Rangihaeata. The white circles with legs indicate dairy areas. You can see boats and fish in the water at the base.
With the aborigines the coloured areas would be different tribes each with their own language dialect, often just one extended family.
