Spoonbills at Waitapu
Oil on canvas, framed 50 x 76 cm
Only a few times each year, the spoonbills visit this picturesque old wharf near our home in Golden Bay. After a long beach walk at low tide, Lethea and I came across this scene. I nearly got stuck in the mud as I searched for the perfect angle along the muddy shore, but it was worth the effort to capture the boats, the reflections, and the long white cloud with the snowy mountains in the background.
