One springtime, descending from the ski-fields south of Queenstown in New Zealand’s South Island after visiting spectacular Skippers Canyon, I was overwhelmed by the quality of light and breathtaking views across the valley. Queenstown is tucked away along the lake in the distance, out of sight to the right.
Using several perspective points I was able to create this flowing zig-zag enterance along the valley. The combination of the drier warm colours of the high lands are balanced with the cool blues and greens in the valley. The use of sunlit and shaded areas was also intriguing.
